Faux
A faux finish can be loosely defined as any specialized painted or textured treatment on walls, objects and furniture.
Of course the scope of this definition is infinite, and here we list but a few of the myriad styles of faux finishing that Paul Minnihan Studios has mastered through the years: cheeseclothing, ragging, strie, graining, marbling, stenciling, colorwash, Venetian plaster, textured finishes, layered glazes, hand-painted stripes, gold leaf, tortoise shell, mother of pearl, antique patinas, speckling and painted borders. From marbling walls and columns to stenciling an entire room with a damask pattern, Paul Minnihan Studios is devoted to accomodating its clients.
A faux finish on a wall is oftentimes the final piece of the puzzle for a room's design—a catalyst for all the elements of a room to assemble and work together, akin to actors on a stage.
